April 25th was the opening of my BFA thesis show at Texas State University.
RAW:Natural Born Artist Showcase
On April 21st I had the privilege of being selected for an Austin up and coming artist showcase. It was an awesome combination of fine art, photography, fashion, jewelry, performance and music, all from local Austin talent.
Painting Thesis Series
We exist in a world where violence, evil and immorality have become components of everyday life. Our newer generations are growing increasingly desensitized to an epidemic of social injustices. Our lands are plagued by sadness and suffering, and are all too often overlooked by a non empathic public. It is with great hope that this series will reignite the flame that once burned so bright in the eyes of a compassionate world, returning us to the core values that make us human.
Musician Series
The featured series is a result of my passion for music as well as painting. As a musician and an artist most of my good buddies are also artists and musicians. Luckily this made it easy for the series, as all those featured are actual friends of mine playing their respective instruments. This series tends to struggle between humor and discomfort utilizing both realism and distortion.
